Launch your affiliate program

Your setup checklist confirms basic tracking. Before inviting partners, complete these payment checks in the environment you will use.

Connect your checkout

• Plandalf checkout: follow Plandalf affiliates with Plandalf checkout. The SDK captures the referral and passes it when checkout opens.
• Your own Stripe checkout: follow Stripe tracking. Enable Stripe sales in the correct mode and carry the referral token into the Checkout Session and payment or subscription metadata.
• Another payment system: follow the sales API guide. Report confirmed payments from your server with unique sale IDs.

Use one sale-reporting path. If you also use Tolt, choose which system owns commissions and follow the Tolt guide for its separate metadata and automation setup.

Verify a payment

1. Create a test partner and open their link in a fresh browser session.
2. Complete a test purchase. In Affiliates → Sales, confirm the correct partner, amount, currency, and commission.
3. Replay the payment event. Confirm there is still only one sale and commission.
4. Refund the payment. Confirm the commission reverses once and the payout balance decreases correctly.
5. Make a direct purchase in a fresh browser session. Confirm it does not inherit another visitor’s partner.

Verify a subscription renewal

1. Complete an attributed subscription purchase with recurring commissions enabled.
2. Collect the next paid invoice without visiting the affiliate link again. Stripe test clocks can help you test this in a sandbox.
3. Confirm a second sale is credited to the same partner, with the configured rate and duration.
4. Replay the renewal event. It must not create another commission.
5. Test a failed payment and a free trial. Neither should earn a paid commission; a later successful payment should.

The first attributed sale saves the relationship between the customer and partner. Future paid invoices use that relationship. The browser cookie is not the monthly payment tracker. See subscription tracking.

Check delivery and payouts

For Stripe, your account must be connected to Plandalf in the correct mode. Plandalf’s operator must have configured and verified connected-account webhook delivery, signature verification, queue workers, and the scheduler. A successful browser checkout alone does not confirm webhook delivery.

Use manual payments or a PayPal export initially. Review the approved balance after the refund hold, send the payment, and mark it paid only after confirming it was sent. Stripe affiliate payouts are disabled in this release.

Keep the payment IDs, renewal ID, refund ID, and expected commission amounts with your launch notes. Repeat these checks for each customer account before calling the program ready.
