Moving a newsletter from Flodesk to Kit
A creator rebuilding in Kit sets the segment webhook so every new Flodesk segment member is tagged in Kit, while old broadcasts keep going out from Flodesk.

Native on one side, webhook on the other
Flodesk segments can start Kit tags and sequences through a Plandalf catch URL, and a checkout can write the buyer to both.
No credit card required. No coding required.
Flodesk
Kit (ConvertKit)Plandalf does not sync Flodesk with Kit (ConvertKit). Kit has native Plandalf steps; Flodesk is reached through its API with Send Webhook, and a Flodesk webhook you create can post to a Plandalf catch URL. That lets a Flodesk event drive Kit, and the reverse.
| Event | From and to | Through | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subscriber added to segment | Flodesk → Kit | Webhook | A webhook created in Flodesk's API posts JSON to your catch URL, including a segment object. The sequence runs Tag Subscriber or Add Subscriber to Form in Kit. |
| Checkout completed | Plandalf → Kit | Native step | Tag Subscriber and Add Subscriber to Sequence use {{trigger.customer_email}}. Kit steps that add something create the subscriber when Kit has no record. |
| Checkout completed | Plandalf → Flodesk | Webhook | A Send Webhook step posts to Flodesk's subscribers endpoint with the email and a list of segment_ids, using HTTP Basic with the API key as username. |
| Subscriber joined form | Kit → Flodesk | Webhook | Plandalf adds the Kit webhook, and the sequence calls Flodesk's API to create the subscriber or put them in a segment. |
| Invoice refunded | Plandalf → Kit | Native step | Remove access on refund takes the Kit tag away. The Flodesk segment stays unless you add a webhook call from Flodesk's API reference. |
You need a Flodesk API key to register the webhook and a Kit V4 API key for the tag step.
In Automation, Marketplace, connect Kit with a V4 key from Settings, Developer.
In My Sequences create a sequence with the Webhook Trigger and copy its Webhook URL. Keep it private, as anyone holding it can start the sequence.
Using Flodesk's API, send a POST to its webhooks endpoint with a name, your catch URL as post_url, and subscriber.added_to_segment in events.
Add a person to the segment in Flodesk. When the request arrives, choose it as the sample record on the trigger's Test tab so the variable menu shows the subscriber's email.
Add Kit, Tag Subscriber, map the email from the sample and pick a tag. Add Add Subscriber to Sequence if Kit should start emails too.
Run each test with a real address of your own, then switch the sequence On.
A creator rebuilding in Kit sets the segment webhook so every new Flodesk segment member is tagged in Kit, while old broadcasts keep going out from Flodesk.
People who buy a course through a Plandalf checkout get the Kit onboarding sequence. A Flodesk segment for the same offer is filled through the Flodesk API so its branded campaigns reach them too.
