A SaaS founder who takes cards and PayPal
Stripe carries most revenue and the Tolt sequence runs on those invoices. PayPal sales are rare, so a monthly check in Tolt adds any referral the sequence did not record.

Used side by side
A PayPal-only seller cannot use Plandalf's documented Tolt steps, which need Stripe product IDs. This page says what that means and what to do instead.
No credit card required. No coding required.
PayPal
ToltNot for PayPal-only sellers. Plandalf's Tolt steps record commissions from a paid invoice and need each product linked to a Stripe product ID, so a checkout that takes only PayPal is outside the documented path. Plandalf connects both apps separately and does not send PayPal sales to Tolt. Tolt itself lists PayPal as a way to pay affiliates, not a sales source.
| Event | From and to | Through | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Invoice paid (Stripe-linked products) | Plandalf (paid via Stripe) → Tolt | Native step | The documented route: Find or Create Customer, then Create Transactions From Invoice, on the Invoice Paid trigger. Each product needs a Stripe product ID, and the Plandalf SDK and Tolt script must be on the page that opens checkout. |
| Invoice paid (PayPal-only checkout) | Plandalf (paid via PayPal) → Tolt | By hand | Not documented. The Plandalf docs do not say the Tolt steps work for a PayPal payment, and Tolt's own payments page names Stripe, Paddle and Chargebee as the billing providers it syncs with. Record those commissions in Tolt yourself, or ask both vendors before relying on a workaround. |
| Affiliate payouts | Tolt → PayPal | By hand | Tolt's payments page lists PayPal as a way for affiliates to be paid. That concerns what affiliates receive, which is separate from what your buyers pay with. |
| Partner invite | Plandalf → Plandalf partner program | Native step | Plandalf's own Invite to Partner Program step emails buyers an invite to a Plandalf affiliate program. It is a different program from Tolt, so partners do not appear in Tolt. |
This is a decision guide, not a setup that works for PayPal-only checkouts.
Open the offer in Plandalf and note which payment options it shows. If PayPal is the only one, the Tolt steps as documented do not apply to it.
The Tolt steps stop with a message that a product has no Stripe prod_ ID when it is not linked to Stripe. A PayPal-only product has nothing to link.
Link those products to Stripe products, install Tolt's script and the Plandalf SDK, and use the Record Tolt referral commission template under Automation, Templates. Test with a Tolt referral link in a private window. Whether a PayPal payment on the same offer is credited is not stated in the docs, so check Tolt after a sandbox payment.
Either credit PayPal-paid sales in Tolt by hand, or look at Plandalf's own affiliate program, which is in early access and whose payout options include PayPal exports. Read its status page before promising partners anything.
If Tolt also reads payments through its own Stripe connection, choose one route for each checkout, or the same sale can be credited twice.

With no Stripe products, Tolt cannot be fed from Plandalf as documented. This seller weighs Plandalf's native affiliate program, or a spreadsheet of referrals and PayPal payouts, against moving some sales to cards.
