Ecommerce brand with a standing Klaviyo flow
A store that already runs welcome and winback flows in Klaviyo records each Plandalf upsell as its own metric, so buyers of the add-on get a different follow-up than buyers of the main product.
Native on one side, webhook on the other
Stripe takes the payment, Plandalf runs the checkout, and a Send Webhook step can hand the purchase to Klaviyo as an event.
No credit card required. No coding required.
KlaviyoPlandalf has no Klaviyo steps and does not sync Stripe customers or invoices into Klaviyo. Klaviyo documents its own Stripe integration for that. What Plandalf adds is Send Webhook: a sequence on a paid checkout can post an event to Klaviyo's API, and a Klaviyo flow can post back to a Plandalf catch URL.
| Event | From and to | Through | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Checkout completed | Plandalf (paid via Stripe) → Klaviyo | Webhook | A Send Webhook step posts to Klaviyo's create-event endpoint with a metric name you choose, the buyer's email as the profile identifier and the order total as the event value. The event can then start a metric-triggered flow. |
| Cart recovery | Plandalf → Klaviyo | Webhook | When a payment fails, the trigger carries a retry_url. Passing it as an event property lets a Klaviyo flow write the recovery email instead of a Plandalf Send Email step. |
| Invoice refunded | Stripe → Klaviyo | Webhook | A refund that succeeds in Stripe starts the Invoice Refunded trigger. A webhook step can record it as a Klaviyo event so the buyer leaves a post-purchase flow. |
| Flow webhook action | Klaviyo → Plandalf | Webhook | A Klaviyo flow's Webhook action sends a POST with a JSON body to a Plandalf catch URL, for example to enrol the profile in a countdown promo with Enroll in Promo. |
You need a published Plandalf checkout on Stripe and a Klaviyo private API key that can write events.
In Klaviyo create a private API key with the events:write scope. Klaviyo's reference says each request also needs a revision header in date form, so copy the current one from its docs.
In Plandalf go to Automation, then My Sequences, and create a sequence with Plandalf as the app and Checkout Completed as the trigger. On the Test tab pick your latest checkout as the sample so the variable menu fills.
Choose Plandalf, Send Webhook. Set the URL to Klaviyo's events endpoint, the method to POST, and add an Authorization header holding Klaviyo-API-Key and your key, plus the revision header.
Write a JSON body in Klaviyo's shape: a metric object with a name such as Plandalf Order, a profile object whose email is {{trigger.customer_email}}, properties with {{trigger.line_items_summary}} and {{trigger.invoice_number}}, and a numeric value of {{trigger.total_amount}}.
Test the step with your own email. A step test is real and writes to Klaviyo. Klaviyo's reference lists HTTP 202 as the success reply, so look for that in the step output.
Turn the sequence on, enable Run on test purchases in its Settings, buy with a Stripe test card, read the run in the Events view, then switch the setting off. Build the Klaviyo flow on the new metric afterwards.
A store that already runs welcome and winback flows in Klaviyo records each Plandalf upsell as its own metric, so buyers of the add-on get a different follow-up than buyers of the main product.
Launch buyers are recorded with the offer name as an event property. A Klaviyo segment on that property then picks who gets the next drop.
A Klaviyo list-triggered flow posts each profile to a Plandalf catch URL. The Plandalf countdown image in the email shows that person's own deadline.
