VIP upgrade beside a product launch
A store launching a product sells a paid early-access tier through a Plandalf offer on the same page. The launch product stays in the normal Shopify cart.
Checkout embed
A button in your Shopify theme opens a Plandalf checkout that charges through your own Stripe account, while Shopify keeps its cart and catalog.
No credit card required. No coding required.
ShopifyNot as a Shopify payment gateway. Plandalf does not replace Shopify's cart or checkout. Your theme loads the Plandalf script, a button opens a separate Plandalf offer, and that offer takes payment through the Stripe account you connected in Plandalf. Shopify orders and Plandalf invoices stay in two places.
| Event | From and to | Through | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buyer clicks the offer button | Shopify → Plandalf | The theme loads the organization SDK, and an element carrying data-plandalf-present opens the offer in a frame on the Shopify page. The Shopify cart is not involved. | |
| Payment for the offer | Plandalf → Stripe | Payment connection | The charge runs in the Stripe account you authorized in Plandalf. That account is the processor of record, and Plandalf is not the merchant of record. |
| Checkout completed | Plandalf (paid via Stripe) → Shopify | By hand | A paid Plandalf checkout does not create a Shopify order. Fulfilment of the upgrade or service is yours to set up, for example with a sequence that posts to a URL you choose using Send Webhook. |
| Native Shopify cart purchase | Shopify → Stripe | By hand | Which provider Shopify's own checkout uses depends on how the store's payments are set up, and Plandalf does not touch it. |
You need a Plandalf offer with a Stripe-backed price and edit access to the Shopify theme code.
In the Plandalf dashboard open the Stripe integration and authorize the Stripe account that should receive the money. Attach a Stripe-backed price to the offer, then publish it.
Take your organization's script tag from the offer's share code. It looks like <script src='https://YOUR-HOST/js/plandalf-sdk.js' async></script> with your own host.
Paste the script before the closing body tag in theme.liquid, or in whatever managed script area your theme provides. Load it once for the whole store.
On the product template, landing page or blog post, add a button with data-plandalf-present set to the offer slug. Word the label as a separate purchase, such as Add VIP upgrade.
Confirm the ordinary Shopify add-to-cart path still works, then open the offer from the published page. Check in Plandalf that the Stripe test connection is the one in use before paying with a Stripe test card, because a test label alone does not prove it.
Under Automation, My Sequences, start a sequence on Checkout Completed for this offer and add Send Order Receipt, or Send Webhook to your fulfilment tool.

A shop that also sells installation, a consultation or an event seat links that item to a Plandalf checkout, so Shopify's product catalog does not need a variant for it.
A seasonal landing page pairs a Plandalf countdown with data-plandalf-apply-promo on the buy button, so the price tier follows the promo's deadline.
data-plandalf-mode set to test requests test mode, but is not proof that a Stripe test account is connected. Check the connection before you attempt a payment.theme.liquid and put a button with data-plandalf-present on the page. The checkout then charges your Stripe account.Checked October 26, 2026 against Plandalf's own setup guides and the vendor documentation: Shopify Help Center: Shopify Payments.
