Paid workshop announced in a newsletter
A creator emails the list a Button linking to the workshop checkout and adds a countdown image. Late buyers can be added as subscribers if they were not on the list.
Native on one side, webhook on the other
Readers click a Plandalf checkout link in a beehiiv post, Stripe takes the payment, and a webhook step can add the buyer as a subscriber.
No credit card required. No coding required.
beehiivNative subscriber or buyer sync between Plandalf and beehiiv is not available. What works today is a hosted Plandalf checkout link in a beehiiv post or page, paid through your Stripe account, and a countdown image in an HTML Snippet block. Adding buyers as subscribers needs a Send Webhook step you set up yourself.
| Event | From and to | Through | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reader clicks a checkout link | beehiiv → Plandalf | By hand | You paste the offer's hosted checkout link into a Button block in a post, or into a custom page on your beehiiv website. It is an ordinary link, so email clients do not need to run any script. |
| Payment | Plandalf → Stripe | Payment connection | The charge runs in the Stripe account you connected in Plandalf. This is separate from the Stripe connection beehiiv uses for its own paid subscriptions and digital products. |
| Countdown in the email | Plandalf → beehiiv | A Plandalf promo generates image code for beehiiv, using beehiiv's {{subscriber_id}} merge tag as the reference. You paste it into an HTML Snippet block, which needs an eligible beehiiv plan or trial. | |
| Checkout completed | Plandalf (paid via Stripe) → beehiiv | Webhook | Plandalf creates no beehiiv subscriber after a purchase. A Send Webhook step can call beehiiv's create-subscription endpoint with the buyer's email if you want one. |
You need a published Plandalf offer with a Stripe price, a beehiiv publication you can edit, and a beehiiv API key if you want buyer sync.
In Plandalf open the offer and copy its Test mode link while you rehearse. Swap in the public link before you send. Do not paste the SDK script or an iframe into an email.
In the beehiiv post type /, choose Button, set a label such as Open checkout and paste the link. Preview the email and click through to confirm the product and total.
In Plandalf open the promo, choose Emails, then beehiiv, and copy the Email timer code. In the post type /, choose HTML snippet and paste it unchanged, keeping the merge tag.
Under Automation, My Sequences, start a sequence on Checkout Completed for the offer. Add Send Webhook set to POST on beehiiv's create-subscription URL for your publication.
Add an Authorization header with your beehiiv bearer key. In the JSON body set email to {{trigger.customer_email}}, and decide on send_welcome_email and reactivate_existing deliberately.
A step test writes to beehiiv for real, so use your own address. Turn on Run on test purchases, buy with a Stripe test card, read the run in the Events view and then switch the setting off.

A writer selling a guide on the beehiiv website points a custom page's button at a hosted checkout, which keeps the product page inside beehiiv.
A publisher who sells beehiiv paid tiers for the newsletter keeps ebook sales on Plandalf and Stripe, so the one-off products do not sit inside the subscription system.
