SaaS with branded transactional email
A product team already sends password resets through Postmark and wants its purchase confirmation to match, using the same template layout and stream.
Native on one side, webhook on the other
A Stripe-paid Plandalf checkout can trigger your own Postmark template through a Send Webhook step that calls Postmark's email API.
No credit card required. No coding required.
PostmarkPlandalf has no Postmark steps and does not sync Stripe customers into Postmark. What does work is Send Webhook calling Postmark's Email API with your server token, so a paid Stripe checkout sends a template from your own Postmark server. Plandalf's built-in Send Email is the simpler route if you do not need Postmark.
| Event | From and to | Through | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Checkout completed | Plandalf (paid via Stripe) → Postmark | Webhook | A Send Webhook step posts to Postmark's send-with-template endpoint. The buyer's email goes in To, and TemplateModel carries the product, total and invoice number. |
| Cart recovery | Plandalf → Postmark | Webhook | When a payment fails, the trigger includes a retry_url. Putting it in the template model lets your Postmark template carry the retry link. |
| Invoice refunded | Stripe → Postmark | Webhook | A refund that succeeds in Stripe starts Invoice Refunded, so a webhook step can send a refund confirmation from your own Postmark template. |
| Countdown image in a template | Plandalf → Postmark | A Plandalf promo image tag can sit in a Postmark template, using the template model's email field as the ref. Your send call must include that field. |
You need a published Plandalf checkout on Stripe, a Postmark server with a template and a confirmed sender signature.
Create the template in your Postmark server, give it an alias and copy the server token from the API Tokens tab. Postmark requires a confirmed sender signature for the From address.
In Plandalf open Automation, then My Sequences, and choose Plandalf with Checkout Completed as the trigger. Pick your offer and a recent checkout as the sample on the Test tab.
Set POST and the URL https://api.postmarkapp.com/email/withTemplate. Add headers X-Postmark-Server-Token with your token, plus Accept and Content-Type set to application/json.
Set From to your signature address, To to {{trigger.customer_email}}, TemplateAlias to your alias and a TemplateModel object with name as {{trigger.customer_first_name}}, total as {{trigger.total_amount}} and invoice as {{trigger.invoice_number}}.
A step test sends a real email, so use your own address. Then switch on Run on test purchases, buy with a Stripe test card, check the run in the Events view and switch the setting off.
If Postmark sends the confirmation, leave Send Order Receipt out of the sequence so the buyer does not get two.

A subscription seller routes Cart Recovery to a Postmark template that carries the retry link and a short plain-language explanation.
A client whose compliance rules require every message to leave from their own Postmark server uses Send Webhook instead of Plandalf's sender.
