Workflow ideas
Ghost and HubSpot workflow matrix
Each row is a concrete workflow to evaluate. The pair status above tells you whether Plandalf already has a template or connector.
| Workflow | Trigger | Action | What needs work |
|---|---|---|---|
| Send new Ghost members to HubSpot | GhostMember added | HubSpotUpsert contacts | Use the Ghost member email as the matching key; map name and member status to explicit HubSpot properties. |
| Keep member details aligned | GhostMember edited | HubSpotUpdate a contact | Only sync the fields you own. Check newsletter consent before changing HubSpot marketing fields. |
| Create a Ghost member from a CRM lead | HubSpotContact created | GhostCreate a member | A custom bridge could create a free member; paid access needs a separately verified entitlement flow. |
Worth handling by hand
- Backfill existing Ghost members with a one-time export and HubSpot batch upsert. A new-member webhook only covers future signups.
- Map Ghost free, paid and complimentary member states to an explicit HubSpot property. Do not infer paid access from a CRM lifecycle stage.
- Keep newsletter consent, webhook retries and duplicate prevention in the bridge. These are manual design decisions, not a shipped Plandalf connector.
