# beehiiv

Use your beehiiv newsletter or website to send readers to a Plandalf hosted checkout. This works with a normal link; you do not need to install a script in an email. If you run a timed promotion, you can also place Plandalf’s generated countdown image in a beehiiv post.

> Hosted checkout links and promo email images work today. Plandalf does not currently have a native beehiiv action that automatically creates or updates subscribers after a purchase. Ask about a native beehiiv workflow if you need buyer sync.

## Add a checkout link to a beehiiv post

1.  Copy the Plandalf link

    Publish your Offer in Plandalf and open its **Share** tab. Under **Your checkout link**, copy the URL. For your first check, copy the separate **Test mode link** instead.

2.  Link a beehiiv button

    Open a post in the beehiiv editor and add a button or linked text. Set its destination to the Plandalf checkout URL. The reader leaves the email for the hosted checkout, where Plandalf handles the purchase.

3.  Send a test

    Send yourself a beehiiv test email. Click the button in the received email, complete a provider-backed test checkout, and check the return page, Plandalf order, receipt, and any post-purchase automation you configured. Replace the test URL with the live checkout URL before sending the campaign.

Do not paste Plandalf’s JavaScript SDK or an iframe into the email HTML. Email clients do not run those checkout surfaces. Use the hosted checkout link instead. See [Hosted checkout](https://plandalf.com/docs/product-guides/checkouts/hosted-checkout) for how its URL and test sessions work.

## Add the link to a beehiiv website page

In beehiiv, open **Website → Builder**, choose the page, and add or edit a button. Set the button’s destination to the same Plandalf hosted checkout URL and publish the page. Open the published page on desktop and mobile, click through, and verify that checkout and the return page load.

For a custom page, beehiiv’s Advanced Website Builder also has an **HTML block**. A normal link is the simplest install; use custom HTML only when you need a layout that the button editor cannot provide. ## Add a promo countdown to a post

1.  In Plandalf, create a Promo and open **Emails**. Select **beehiiv** and copy the generated countdown HTML snippet for that promo.
2.  In the beehiiv post editor, type `/`, choose **HTML Snippet**, and paste the generated HTML. Preview the email. Keep the purchase call to action as a separate button linked to the hosted checkout.
3.  Send a test email and confirm that the countdown image loads in the received message and the checkout button opens the intended Offer.

## Need subscribers to sync after purchase?

A beehiiv subscriber record is not created by adding a checkout link. Buyer sync needs a separate, consent-aware connection from a Plandalf purchase event to the beehiiv API or another automation service. Do not treat the checkout link or countdown image as proof that subscriber sync is running.
