MailerLite's plugin collects signups on WordPress. A Plandalf button on the page puts paid buyers into a MailerLite group, which can start an automation.

## Does WordPress integrate with MailerLite?

WordPress hosts the page and MailerLite holds the subscribers; Plandalf connects the sale to the group. A Plandalf button in a Custom HTML block opens the checkout, and native MailerLite steps find or create the subscriber and add them to a group. MailerLite's own WordPress plugin is separate and handles signup forms.

A Custom HTML block or the theme holds the SDK and a button with `data-plandalf-present`. The payment is taken by your Stripe or PayPal account.

Native step

Find or Create Subscriber returns a `subscriber_id` and its `status`. Add Subscriber to Group then uses that ID to put the buyer in a group such as Members.

A new subscriber, for instance from a signup form on your WordPress page, can start a sequence. Pick a group to limit it, and use Enroll in Promo for a countdown.

## Add a WordPress buyer to a MailerLite group

You need a WordPress login that can insert JavaScript, a published Plandalf offer and a MailerLite account on the current MailerLite, not Classic.

1. ### Put the button on the page

Paste the Plandalf SDK script and a button with `data-plandalf-present` into a Custom HTML block, or into the page Code editor. Save the draft, publish, and open the live page signed out to test the checkout.

2. ### Generate one MailerLite token

In MailerLite open Integrations, then MailerLite API, click Use and Generate new token. MailerLite's WordPress help uses the same token page for its plugin, so name this one Plandalf and keep it separate.

3. ### Connect MailerLite to Plandalf

Open Automation, then Marketplace in Plandalf, click Connect on MailerLite and paste the token into API Key. When MailerLite connected appears you can build the sequence.

4. ### Start the sequence on payment

Under My Sequences create a sequence with Plandalf and Checkout Completed, limited to your offer. Choose a recent checkout as the sample on the Test tab.

5. ### Find the subscriber, then the group

Add MailerLite, Find or Create Subscriber with `{{trigger.customer_email}}` and the buyer's name, and run its test. Add Add Subscriber to Group, pick `subscriber_id` from that step in the variable menu, and choose the group.

6. ### Build the automation and the refund

In MailerLite make an automation that starts when someone joins that group. Back in Plandalf add Remove access on refund, pick the group, switch on Run on test purchases, test with your own email, and switch the setting off.

## What sellers do with WordPress and MailerLite

### Paid newsletter tier on a blog

A writer runs a free newsletter signup with MailerLite's plugin and sells a paid tier through Plandalf in the post body. Paid readers move into a Supporters group that gets the extra issues.

### Local business gift cards

A cafe sells gift cards from its WordPress site. Buyers join a Gift Card group and receive the how-to-redeem email, apart from the weekly offers list.

## Limits and gotchas

- MailerLite's WordPress plugin and Plandalf do not know about each other. A signup form submission and a Plandalf purchase reach MailerLite separately, so use different groups if you want to tell them apart.
- MailerLite's help says its pop-up forms appear only when enabled in MailerLite, and other WordPress plugins can block the pop-up script. A blocked script does not affect the Plandalf button.
- Only current MailerLite is supported, and Classic accounts use a different API.
- Add Subscriber to Group needs the `subscriber_id` from the earlier step. An email address in that field fails.
- Plandalf's MemberPress plugin is early access and not a working WordPress membership link. Do not use it to gate content on MailerLite group membership.

## WordPress and MailerLite: common questions

Does WordPress integrate with MailerLite?

Yes, MailerLite has an official WordPress plugin that sends signups from your site to MailerLite and shows its forms. Plandalf is separate and adds the paid checkout side.

How do I connect MailerLite to a WordPress checkout page?

Place the Plandalf button in a Custom HTML block, connect MailerLite under Automation, Marketplace with an API token, and run Find or Create Subscriber then Add Subscriber to Group after Checkout Completed.

WordPress MailerLite integration: does the plugin need the same API key?

MailerLite's help has you generate an API token in MailerLite for the plugin. Generate a second token for Plandalf so you can revoke either on its own.

Can a MailerLite group start a MailerLite automation after a Plandalf purchase?

Yes. Once Plandalf adds the buyer to the group, a MailerLite automation that starts on joining that group takes over.
