Webflow shows the offer, Plandalf takes the order, and Mailchimp gets the buyer as a tagged contact with an event for a Customer Journey.

## Does Webflow integrate with Mailchimp?

Plandalf does not sync Webflow forms or Webflow Ecommerce with Mailchimp. A Webflow button opens the Plandalf checkout; after payment a Plandalf sequence uses native Mailchimp steps to add the contact, apply tags and record an event. Mailchimp subscribe and unsubscribe events can start a Plandalf sequence.

What happens

The Plandalf script goes in the site's Footer code, and a button with the `data-plandalf-present` attribute opens the offer. Nothing is stored in Webflow.

Checkout completed

PlandalfMailchimp

Native step

Add or Update Contact puts the buyer in the audience you pick. Add Tags to Contact marks what they bought.

Purchase event for a journey

PlandalfMailchimp

Native step

Record Event sends a named event, for example `started_trial`, and a Customer Journey that starts on that event name sends the emails. Events carry no revenue.

Contact subscribed

MailchimpPlandalf

Native step

Plandalf adds a webhook to the audience when you save the trigger. A sequence can then enrol each new subscriber in a promo, shown as a countdown on a Webflow page.

Invoice refunded

Native step

The Remove access on refund template runs Remove Tags from Contact once the invoice is fully refunded in Stripe.

## Send Webflow buyers into a Mailchimp audience

You need a Mailchimp API key, an audience for buyers, and a Webflow site published with the Plandalf script.

1. ### Install the checkout on Webflow

Paste your Plandalf SDK script into Site settings, Custom code, Footer code. On the button, add the custom attribute `data-plandalf-present` set to the offer slug, publish, and open the live page signed out to check the amount.

2. ### Create a Mailchimp key

In Mailchimp go to Extras, API keys and click Create A Key. Copy the whole key including the data centre part after the dash, such as `-us21`.

3. ### Connect Mailchimp

In Plandalf open Automation, Marketplace and connect Mailchimp under Available now. Paste the key into API Key and wait for Mailchimp connected.

4. ### Add the contact and tag

Create a sequence on Checkout Completed for the Webflow offer. Add Mailchimp, Add Tags to Contact, pick the Audience, set Email Address to `{{trigger.customer_email}}` and add a tag such as Webflow buyer. Leave Status for New Contacts on Subscribed only if buyers agreed to marketing email.

5. ### Record the event

Add Mailchimp, Record Event with Event Name `purchased_course` and an Event Properties pair of `plan` and `{{trigger.line_items_summary}}`. In Mailchimp build a Customer Journey that starts on the same event name.

6. ### Test with a test card

Switch on Run on test purchases, buy from the published Webflow page with a Stripe test card, and check the contact, tag and journey in Mailchimp. Switch the setting off afterwards.

## What sellers do with Webflow and Mailchimp

### Webflow portfolio sites selling presets

A photographer sells Lightroom presets from a Webflow page and tags each buyer by pack. Mailchimp campaigns for the next pack go only to people with the earlier tag.

### Event and workshop sign-ups

A studio selling workshop seats on Webflow records an event per workshop, and a Customer Journey sends the joining details and a reminder sequence.

## Limits and gotchas

- Mailchimp events carry no revenue and Plandalf does not send orders to Mailchimp's ecommerce API, so buyers will not appear as Mailchimp orders. Put the amount in an event property or merge field.
- Merge fields must already exist in the audience. Mailchimp does not create one the first time a value arrives, and the step fails with Mailchimp's message.
- A sequence that adds buyers to an audience also fires the Contact Subscribed trigger on that audience. Do not point both at the same promo enrolment without checking for double runs.
- Mailchimp allows 10 simultaneous connections per API key. Plandalf retries twice, so a busy launch may need a failed step re-run.
- Webflow Ecommerce is not involved. A product bought through Webflow's own cart will not reach Mailchimp through Plandalf.

## Webflow and Mailchimp: common questions

Does Webflow integrate with Mailchimp?

Plandalf does not connect the two directly. A Webflow page opens a Plandalf checkout, and a sequence adds the buyer to Mailchimp after payment. For Webflow form signups, see Mailchimp's own integrations list.

How do I connect Mailchimp to Webflow for buyers?

Add the Plandalf script to Webflow's footer code, connect Mailchimp with an API key under Automation, then build a Checkout Completed sequence with Add Tags to Contact and Record Event.

Can I add buyers to a Mailchimp Customer Journey from Webflow?

Yes. Record Event sends a named event for the contact after the Webflow purchase, and a Customer Journey that starts on that event name takes over.
