## Does Stripe integrate with Postmark?

Plandalf has no Postmark steps and does not sync Stripe customers into Postmark. What does work is Send Webhook calling Postmark's Email API with your server token, so a paid Stripe checkout sends a template from your own Postmark server. Plandalf's built-in Send Email is the simpler route if you do not need Postmark.

## What moves between Stripe and Postmark

Event

From and to

Through

What happens

Checkout completed

Plandalf (paid via Stripe)Postmark

Webhook

A Send Webhook step posts to Postmark's send-with-template endpoint. The buyer's email goes in `To`, and `TemplateModel` carries the product, total and invoice number.

Cart recovery

PlandalfPostmark

Webhook

When a payment fails, the trigger includes a `retry_url`. Putting it in the template model lets your Postmark template carry the retry link.

Invoice refunded

StripePostmark

Webhook

A refund that succeeds in Stripe starts Invoice Refunded, so a webhook step can send a refund confirmation from your own Postmark template.

Checkout embed

A Plandalf promo image tag can sit in a Postmark template, using the template model's email field as the `ref`. Your send call must include that field.

## Send a Postmark template after a Stripe-paid order

You need a published Plandalf checkout on Stripe, a Postmark server with a template and a confirmed sender signature.

1. ### Prepare Postmark

Create the template in your Postmark server, give it an alias and copy the server token from the API Tokens tab. Postmark requires a confirmed sender signature for the `From` address.

2. ### Create the sequence

In Plandalf open Automation, then My Sequences, and choose Plandalf with Checkout Completed as the trigger. Pick your offer and a recent checkout as the sample on the Test tab.

3. ### Add Send Webhook

Set POST and the URL `https://api.postmarkapp.com/email/withTemplate`. Add headers `X-Postmark-Server-Token` with your token, plus `Accept` and `Content-Type` set to `application/json`.

4. ### Write the JSON body

    Set `From` to your signature address, `To` to `{{trigger.customer_email}}`, `TemplateAlias` to your alias and a `TemplateModel` object with `name` as `{{trigger.customer_first_name}}`, `total` as `{{trigger.total_amount}}` and `invoice` as `{{trigger.invoice_number}}`.

5. ### Test, then rehearse

A step test sends a real email, so use your own address. Then switch on Run on test purchases, buy with a Stripe test card, check the run in the Events view and switch the setting off.

6. ### Decide who sends the receipt

If Postmark sends the confirmation, leave Send Order Receipt out of the sequence so the buyer does not get two.

## What sellers do with Stripe and Postmark

### SaaS with branded transactional email

A product team already sends password resets through Postmark and wants its purchase confirmation to match, using the same template layout and stream.

### Failed-payment notice in your own voice

A subscription seller routes Cart Recovery to a Postmark template that carries the retry link and a short plain-language explanation.

### Agency client with a fixed email provider

A client whose compliance rules require every message to leave from their own Postmark server uses Send Webhook instead of Plandalf's sender.

## Limits and gotchas

- Postmark's send endpoint needs a confirmed sender signature for the `From` address and a server token in the `X-Postmark-Server-Token` header. Keep the token in the step headers, never in page code.
- Messages go to the `outbound` transactional stream unless you set `MessageStream`. Check Postmark's guidance before using a stream for anything promotional.
- A To field holds at most 50 addresses in Postmark. Plandalf sends one buyer per run, so this only matters if you add recipients.
- Send Webhook waits 30 seconds for the answer and Plandalf's docs promise no retries. If Postmark returns an error, read the step output in the Events view.
- Plandalf has no Postmark trigger. Anything that should flow back in has to come from your own code or Zapier calling a Plandalf catch URL.

## Stripe and Postmark: common questions

Does Stripe integrate with Postmark?

Not directly through Plandalf. Plandalf has no Postmark app, so a paid Stripe checkout reaches Postmark by a Send Webhook step that calls Postmark's API. Check Postmark's own integrations list for other routes.

How do I send Stripe purchase emails through Postmark?

Create a Postmark template, then add a Send Webhook step to a Plandalf sequence on Checkout Completed that posts to Postmark's send-with-template endpoint with your server token.

Do I need Postmark if Plandalf can send email?

No. Plandalf's Send Email and Send Order Receipt steps work from a verified sending domain. Postmark is for sellers who want their own templates and message streams.

Can a Plandalf countdown go in a Postmark template?

Yes. Paste the promo's image tag into the template and make sure the template model includes the email field you use as the `ref`.
