# Stripe + Kajabi integration

Buyers pay in a Plandalf checkout through Stripe and Plandalf grants them the Kajabi offer, then takes it back if the payment is refunded.

## Does Stripe integrate with Kajabi?

Plandalf connects them with native Kajabi steps. It is not a direct Stripe-to-Kajabi sync: Stripe takes the payment in a Plandalf checkout, then Grant Offer gives the buyer a Kajabi offer and Revoke Offer takes it back on a refund. Kajabi has no Plandalf triggers, so events only flow from Plandalf to Kajabi.

## What moves between Stripe and Kajabi

Event

From and to

Through

What happens

Checkout completed

Plandalf (paid via Stripe)Kajabi

Native step

Grant Offer creates the Kajabi contact if needed, and Kajabi unlocks every product in the offer and runs its own automations for it. A buyer who already holds the offer is not granted it twice.

Upsell accepted

Plandalf (paid via Stripe)Kajabi

Native step

A second Grant Offer, on the upsell trigger, gives the add-on offer only to people who paid for it. The main sequence is untouched.

Checkout completed, tagged

Plandalf (paid via Stripe)Kajabi

Native step

Find or Create Contact with Tags applies tags that already exist in Kajabi. It does not grant access, so it sits next to Grant Offer and cannot replace it.

Invoice refunded

StripeKajabi

Native step

A refund that succeeds in Stripe, including from the Stripe dashboard, starts the Remove access on refund template. Its Revoke Offer step ends the buyer's access to the offer's products.

Subscription cancelled

By hand

Plandalf has no cancelled trigger, so ending access when someone cancels is a manual job in Kajabi, or a Revoke Offer sequence that you start yourself, for example from a Webhook Trigger.

## Give Stripe buyers their Kajabi offer

You need a Stripe account, and a Kajabi plan that includes the Public API with Owner or Subowner access.

1. ### Connect Stripe and publish the checkout

Authorize Stripe in Plandalf, attach a Stripe-backed price to the offer that sells your program and publish it. This checkout is where buyers pay, instead of Kajabi's own checkout page for that product.

2. ### Create the Kajabi credentials

In Kajabi go to Settings, then Public API, and click Create User API Key. Name it Plandalf, pick the account user, and allow reading and editing contacts and offers plus reading tags. Copy the client ID and client secret, not the key Kajabi gives for Zapier, and read your Site ID from the number after `/admin/sites/` in the address bar.

3. ### Connect Kajabi

In Plandalf open Automation, then Marketplace, and click Connect on Kajabi. Enter the Client ID, Client Secret and Site ID. Plandalf signs in to Kajabi straight away and shows Kajabi connected.

4. ### Grant the offer on payment

Create a sequence called Buyers to Kajabi, choose Plandalf and Checkout Completed, and pick your checkout under Offer. Add Kajabi, Grant Offer with Email Address set to `{{trigger.customer_email}}`, the Kajabi Offer the checkout sells, and Name set to `{{trigger.customer_name}}`.

5. ### Decide about the welcome email

Send Kajabi welcome email is on by default and gives new customers their login link. Leave it on unless your own sequence already sends that email, or buyers will get two.

6. ### Revoke on refund

Under Automation, then Templates, add Remove access on refund for the same checkout and set the Revoke Offer step to the same Kajabi offer. The trigger is Invoice Refunded with Full refunds only on by default.

7. ### Rehearse before you sell

Switch on Run on test purchases, pay through the test link with a Stripe test card, and check the contact and offer in Kajabi. Testing Grant Offer gives a real contact access and may send Kajabi's welcome email, so use your own address, then turn the setting off.

## What sellers do with Stripe and Kajabi

### Coaches selling a cohort program

The checkout carries the program price and an order bump for a workbook. One sequence grants the program offer, another grants the workbook offer only when the bump is bought, and each has a matching Revoke Offer so a refunded buyer loses exactly what they paid for.

### Mini course upsell after a lead magnet

Free sign-ups stay in Kajabi. A Plandalf checkout offers the paid course, and an Upsell Accepted sequence grants the second offer, so Kajabi's own automations run for each offer on its own.

### Membership with tag-based segments

Grant Offer opens the members area, and Find or Create Contact with Tags adds a tag such as Founding member that already exists in Kajabi. Email campaigns in Kajabi can then be sent to that tag alone.

## Limits and gotchas

- The Kajabi plan must include the Public API. The current Pro plan does, and older Pro plans need Kajabi's Public API add-on. Without it the connection fails with Authentication failed.
- Use the Public API client ID and secret. The API key and secret Kajabi gives for Zapier do not work here.
- The tag steps apply existing tags only. Create Contact Tag does not create tags in Kajabi, and a typed tag name with a space has to be wrapped in double quotes.
- Contacts created by Plandalf are subscribed to your Kajabi emails, so only send buyers who agreed to hear from you.
- There are no Kajabi triggers, so nothing in Kajabi can start a Plandalf sequence. Changes in Kajabi stay in Kajabi.
- Plandalf has no subscription-cancelled trigger. A cancelled plan keeps its Kajabi access until you revoke it yourself.

## Stripe and Kajabi: common questions

Does Stripe integrate with Kajabi?

Through Plandalf, yes. Stripe handles the payment in a Plandalf checkout, and a Plandalf sequence grants the buyer the Kajabi offer with the Grant Offer step. For what Kajabi does with Stripe on its own pages, check Kajabi's documentation.

How do I give access in Kajabi after a Stripe payment?

Build a sequence that starts on Checkout Completed for your checkout and runs Kajabi, Grant Offer with the buyer's email and the offer they bought. Kajabi then unlocks every product inside that offer.

How do I remove Kajabi access on a Stripe refund?

Add the Remove access on refund template for the same checkout and set its Revoke Offer step to the offer you grant. It runs when a refund succeeds in Stripe, including one made in the Stripe dashboard, and a partial refund is ignored unless you switch off Full refunds only.

Do I need Zapier to connect Stripe to Kajabi?

Not with Plandalf. Kajabi is one of the apps you connect under Automation, then Marketplace, using Public API credentials, so the grant and revoke steps run inside the sequence.
