# PayPal + Kajabi integration

When a buyer pays by PayPal on a Plandalf checkout, a sequence can grant them the matching Kajabi offer and tag them as a contact.

## Does PayPal integrate with Kajabi?

Kajabi has its own PayPal connection under Integrations and Webhooks, so this is a different route. Here PayPal takes the payment on a Plandalf checkout and a Plandalf sequence runs the native Kajabi Grant Offer step. Use it when you want Plandalf's checkout in front of Kajabi. PayPal refunds do not revoke the offer automatically.

What happens

Native step

Grant Offer creates the Kajabi contact if needed, gives access to every product in the offer and runs Kajabi's own automations for it. PayPal buyers use the same completion path as card buyers per the PayPal docs; confirm with a sandbox payment.

Kajabi's own PayPal checkout

PayPalKajabi

Payment connection

Kajabi's own checkout connects PayPal itself, under Settings, Integrations and Webhooks, in the Third-party payment method section. That route does not involve Plandalf, and it is the one to use if you sell from Kajabi's checkout.

Invoice paid

Native step

Find or Create Contact with Tags adds a tag that already exists in Kajabi, which is handy for upsell buyers. It cannot create a new tag.

Refund in PayPal

By hand

Revoke Offer is part of the Remove access on refund template, which starts on Invoice Refunded. That trigger is documented for Stripe refunds, so after a PayPal refund revoke the offer in Kajabi or from a sequence you start with a Webhook Trigger.

## Grant a Kajabi offer when a PayPal payment lands

You need a Kajabi plan that includes the Public API and owner or subowner access to create credentials.

1. ### Create the Kajabi offer and the Plandalf offer

Build the Kajabi offer that holds the course or membership. In Plandalf publish a checkout for the same product, connect PayPal and enable it on the offer beside cards.

2. ### Create a User API Key in Kajabi

In Kajabi go to Settings, then Public API, and click Create User API Key. Name it Plandalf, give it permission to read and edit contacts and offers and to read tags, then copy the client ID and client secret. These are not the Zapier key pair.

3. ### Find the Site ID and connect

The Site ID is the number after /admin/sites/ in your Kajabi address bar. In Plandalf go to Automation, Marketplace, Kajabi, Connect, and enter Client ID, Client Secret and Site ID.

4. ### Grant the offer

Create a sequence on Plandalf, Checkout Completed, limited to the checkout. Add Kajabi, Grant Offer: Email Address `{{trigger.customer_email}}`, the Kajabi Offer, Name `{{trigger.customer_name}}`. Turn Send Kajabi welcome email off only if you send your own login message.

5. ### Rehearse in the PayPal sandbox

Approve a sandbox payment, then check the Events view and the contact in Kajabi. Testing the step itself grants a real offer, so use your own email, not a customer's.

6. ### Plan the refund by hand

When you refund through PayPal, revoke the offer in Kajabi yourself, or send a request to a Webhook Trigger sequence that holds a Revoke Offer step.

## What sellers do with PayPal and Kajabi

### A creator who wants one checkout page for every payment method

The sales page links to a single Plandalf checkout that offers PayPal and cards, and Kajabi stays the place where the course lives. Both kinds of buyer reach the same offer through Grant Offer.

### A launch with an order bump

The bump adds a workbook to the course. One sequence on Upsell Accepted can grant a second Kajabi offer, so bump buyers see the extra product without a manual step. Test that trigger with PayPal before launch, as the docs do not describe it for PayPal.

## Limits and gotchas

- Kajabi needs a plan with the Public API. The current Pro plan includes it, while older Pro plans need Kajabi's Public API add-on.
- There are no Kajabi triggers in Plandalf yet. Kajabi events cannot start a sequence.
- A refund in PayPal does not start Invoice Refunded, which is documented for Stripe refunds. Revoke Offer has to be run another way.
- Find or Create Contact steps create new contacts as subscribed to your Kajabi emails, so only send buyers who agreed to hear from you.
- Kajabi's tag steps need tags that already exist. Typing a new name does not create it.

## PayPal and Kajabi: common questions

Does PayPal integrate with Kajabi?

Yes, in two separate ways. Kajabi has its own PayPal connection under Integrations and Webhooks for Kajabi's checkout. If you sell through a Plandalf checkout instead, PayPal pays on Plandalf and a sequence grants the Kajabi offer.

How do I connect PayPal to Kajabi through Plandalf?

Enable PayPal on a Plandalf offer, connect Kajabi with a Public API client ID, secret and Site ID, and build a Checkout Completed sequence that runs Grant Offer.

How do I give access after a PayPal payment in Kajabi?

Use the Grant Offer step on a sequence that starts when the Plandalf checkout completes. Kajabi opens every product in the offer and runs its own automations.

Does a PayPal refund take the Kajabi offer back?

Not automatically. The refund trigger is documented for Stripe, so revoke the offer in Kajabi or run Revoke Offer from a sequence you start yourself.
