Plandalf has no native ActiveCampaign steps or triggers, and it does not connect PayPal to ActiveCampaign. A Plandalf sequence can call ActiveCampaign's contact sync endpoint with Send Webhook after a PayPal-paid checkout, and an ActiveCampaign automation can post to a Plandalf catch URL to enrol contacts in a promo. ## What moves between PayPal and ActiveCampaign Event From and to Through What happens Checkout completed Plandalf (paid via PayPal)ActiveCampaign Webhook Send Webhook posts to your account's `/api/3/contact/sync` address with the buyer's email and name. ActiveCampaign creates the contact or updates the one with that email. Tag or list on purchase PlandalfActiveCampaign Webhook The sync endpoint lists tags and lists among its optional fields. Check the field shapes in ActiveCampaign's reference before you rely on them, because a tag can start an automation. Automation enrols a contact ActiveCampaignPlandalf Webhook Plandalf's ActiveCampaign page says an automation's Webhook action sends form-encoded data with the address in `contact[email]`, so a JSON catch URL may need Zapier or a small proxy in between. Countdown in a campaign PlandalfActiveCampaign Checkout embed A Plandalf countdown image can go in an HTML block of an ActiveCampaign email, with the recipient merge tag in the image address. Refund PayPalActiveCampaign By hand Invoice Refunded is documented for Stripe refunds. After a PayPal refund, remove the tag or contact status in ActiveCampaign yourself. ## Sync PayPal buyers into ActiveCampaign You need your ActiveCampaign API URL and key from its Developer settings, and a published Plandalf offer with PayPal added. 1. ### Find your API URL ActiveCampaign gives each account its own base address, shown under My Settings, Developer. Do not assume the US address, because accounts differ. 2. ### Add PayPal to the offer Connect the PayPal Business account in Plandalf and enable PayPal on the offer. 3. ### Start the sequence In Automation, My Sequences, create a sequence on Plandalf, Checkout Completed for that offer, and pick a recent checkout as the test sample. 4. ### Configure Send Webhook Use POST, your base address followed by `/api/3/contact/sync`, and a header called `Api-Token` holding your key. The Payload is a JSON object with a `contact` holding `email` from `{{trigger.customer_email}}`, `firstName` and `lastName`. 5. ### Test with your own email Run the step. A 201 reply means a new contact was created and 200 means an existing one was updated. Only the fields you send are changed. 6. ### Rehearse with the PayPal sandbox Switch on Run on test purchases, approve a sandbox payment, check the Events view and then find the contact in ActiveCampaign. Switch the setting off. ## What sellers do with PayPal and ActiveCampaign ### Agency retainers paid by PayPal A consultant invoices retainers through Plandalf. When a PayPal payment lands, the client is synced into ActiveCampaign so the onboarding automation can start. ### Event tickets with reminders Ticket buyers are synced to ActiveCampaign right after payment, so reminder emails reach them without exporting a list. ## Limits and gotchas - The sync call needs the add contacts permission to create a contact and the edit contacts permission to update one. - ActiveCampaign gives each account its own API base address. Copy it from Developer settings rather than guessing the region. - Plandalf's page says ActiveCampaign automation webhooks send form-encoded data. Plandalf recommends JSON for predictable catch-URL payloads, so test what arrives before you rely on it. - Updating a contact changes only the fields you send. Leave a field out and its current value stays. - Plandalf does not send deals or revenue to ActiveCampaign. A PayPal refund does not start Invoice Refunded. ## PayPal and ActiveCampaign: common questions Does PayPal integrate with ActiveCampaign? Plandalf does not connect them. It can sync PayPal-paid buyers into ActiveCampaign with Send Webhook, calling the contact sync endpoint. How do I add PayPal customers to ActiveCampaign? Add a Send Webhook step to a Checkout Completed sequence, post to your account's contact sync address with your `Api-Token`, and include the buyer's email. Is there a native ActiveCampaign step in Plandalf? No. Plandalf has no ActiveCampaign steps or triggers, so everything goes through webhooks or Zapier. Will the same buyer be duplicated in ActiveCampaign?
