# Next.js + beehiiv integration

Plandalf does not create beehiiv subscribers after a purchase. Next.js hosts the checkout, and beehiiv can link to it.

## Does Next.js integrate with beehiiv?

Plandalf does not currently create a beehiiv subscriber after a purchase, and beehiiv has no native Plandalf steps. A Next.js app can host the checkout, and a beehiiv post can link to a hosted checkout. If you build subscriber sync yourself, a Send Webhook step can call a route handler of yours.

Checkout embed

A client component opens the offer through `data-plandalf-present` or the SDK, after the provider's ready callback.

By hand

A beehiiv post or website button can link to a Plandalf hosted checkout. The link works in email because it needs no script.

On an eligible beehiiv plan, an HTML Snippet block can hold the promo email snippet generated under Plandalf Promos, Emails.

Webhook

Send Webhook can call a route handler of yours. What it does with beehiiv is your own code, not a Plandalf feature.

## Sell from Next.js and send readers from beehiiv

There is no buyer sync here. The setup below connects the pieces that do work today.

1. ### Publish the offer and copy the links

In Plandalf publish the offer, then copy its hosted checkout link and its Test mode link from the Share tab.

2. ### Add the checkout to Next.js

Load the SDK in a client provider with `next/script` and render a `data-plandalf-present` button after the SDK is ready. Keep the provider under the root layout so one script serves every route.

3. ### Link from beehiiv

In a beehiiv post or page add a button that points to the hosted checkout link. Send yourself a preview first and click through on the received email.

4. ### Add a countdown if needed

In Plandalf Promos, Emails choose beehiiv and copy the snippet. In the beehiiv editor type `/`, pick HTML Snippet and paste it, then preview before sending.

5. ### Decide how buyers reach beehiiv

If you want paying buyers as subscribers, that needs a separate, consent-aware step. beehiiv's API can create a subscription with an email, so a route handler fed by Send Webhook is one way to build it, and the work is yours.

## What sellers do with Next.js and beehiiv

### Creator sites with a paid product beside the newsletter

A writer runs the newsletter on beehiiv and sells a course from a Next.js site. Newsletter posts link to the checkout, and course access is granted by the app.

### Sponsor and launch campaigns

A countdown image in a beehiiv post pushes readers to a time-boxed offer on the Next.js site, where the same promo drives the price.

## Limits and gotchas

- Plandalf's beehiiv page says plainly that native subscriber or buyer sync is not currently available.
- The countdown snippet needs an eligible beehiiv plan or trial for the HTML Snippet block, per Plandalf's beehiiv guide.
- Use a public checkout host before publishing a beehiiv page or sending a campaign, because a local test host will not open for readers.
- beehiiv's create subscription endpoint takes an email and a bearer token with the subscriptions write scope. Whether and when to confirm by email is your choice through its double opt-in setting.

## Next.js and beehiiv: common questions

Does Next.js integrate with beehiiv?

Plandalf does not connect them. A Next.js site can host a Plandalf checkout and beehiiv posts can link to it, but buyers are not added to beehiiv automatically.

Can I add Plandalf buyers to beehiiv as subscribers?

Not natively. Plandalf's beehiiv page says buyer sync is not available, so it would need your own route handler calling beehiiv's API, with consent handled.

Can a beehiiv email show a Plandalf countdown?

Yes, on an eligible beehiiv plan, through an HTML Snippet block with the snippet Plandalf generates for a promo.
