## Does MailerLite integrate with Mailchimp?

Plandalf does not sync MailerLite with Mailchimp, but both have native steps. A sequence can add a buyer to a MailerLite group and tag them in Mailchimp, and a new MailerLite subscriber can start a sequence that adds a Mailchimp contact. Only current MailerLite works, not Classic.

What happens

Checkout completed

PlandalfMailerLite

Native step

Find or Create Subscriber first, then Add Subscriber to Group with the `subscriber_id` it returns. A MailerLite automation that starts when someone joins the group takes over.

Checkout completed

PlandalfMailchimp

Native step

Add Tags to Contact with a tag for the same product, so a Customer Journey or segment can aim at its buyers.

Subscriber created

MailerLiteMailchimp

Native step

Choose a Group on the trigger to fire only for one group. The trigger hands over `email`, `name` and `groups`, and the sequence runs Add or Update Contact.

Contact subscribed

MailchimpMailerLite

Native step

A sequence runs Find or Create Subscriber and Add Subscriber to Group, which keeps a MailerLite group topped up from the audience.

Invoice refunded

PlandalfMailerLite

Native step

Remove access on refund pairs Remove Subscriber from Group with Remove Tags from Contact, so a full refund takes the buyer out of both.

## A MailerLite group and a Mailchimp tag for each product

You need a MailerLite API token from the current MailerLite and a Mailchimp key.

1. ### Connect MailerLite

In Automation, Marketplace, connect MailerLite with a token from Integrations, MailerLite API. Classic accounts will not connect.

2. ### Connect Mailchimp

Connect Mailchimp the same way, with the key including its data-centre suffix.

3. ### Build the sequence

In My Sequences choose Plandalf, Checkout Completed and the offer, and pick a sample checkout on the Test tab.

4. ### MailerLite steps in order

Add Find or Create Subscriber with `{{trigger.customer_email}}` and run its test. Then add Add Subscriber to Group and choose `subscriber_id` from the previous step, not the email.

5. ### Add the Mailchimp tag

Add Add Tags to Contact for the audience, with a tag named after the same product.

6. ### Add the refund sequence and test

Add Remove access on refund for the checkout, pick the group and the tag, and keep Full refunds only on. Test with Run on test purchases and your own email.

## What sellers do with MailerLite and Mailchimp

### Several small products, two tools

A seller with a template pack and a workshop keeps a MailerLite group for each, plus a Mailchimp tag for each, so either tool can send a launch email to just that product's buyers.

### Mailchimp audience feeding a MailerLite group

Everyone who subscribes in Mailchimp is added to a MailerLite group with its own automation, so the nurture emails come from the tool the seller prefers.

## Limits and gotchas

- Add Subscriber to Group needs a subscriber ID. Passing an email there fails with a group-assignment error, so keep Find or Create Subscriber first.
- MailerLite Classic uses a different API and will not connect.
- MailerLite's Subscriber Created trigger starts on new subscribers, and it may well see ones that Plandalf itself creates. Test before you point it at a sequence that is fed by another one creating MailerLite subscribers.
- Mailchimp's own status for new contacts decides whether they receive marketing. Set it deliberately.
- Neither tool receives the order total through these steps. Store it as a MailerLite field or a Mailchimp event property.

## MailerLite and Mailchimp: common questions

Does MailerLite integrate with Mailchimp?

Plandalf does not sync them, but both have native steps and triggers, so sequences can copy buyers and subscribers between the two. For a direct link, see each vendor's own integrations list.

How do I connect MailerLite to Mailchimp?

Connect each under Automation, Marketplace, then build a sequence on a purchase or a subscribe trigger that runs steps for both. The recipe above has the order of steps.

What is the equivalent of a MailerLite group in Mailchimp?

Plandalf treats a group as a place to put buyers and a Mailchimp tag as the label on a contact. Use one of each per product to keep segments lined up.

Can I move from Mailchimp to MailerLite with Plandalf?

Plandalf adds new buyers and subscribers to both while you switch. The existing audience is moved with MailerLite's import.
