> Plandalf has no Zapier app. Mailchimp is native, and Zapier bridges the rest through Send Webhook and a catch URL, for events the Mailchimp trigger does not cover.

Native on one side, webhook on the other

# Mailchimp + Zapier integration

## Does Mailchimp integrate with Zapier?

Plandalf has no Zapier app. Mailchimp has native Plandalf steps and triggers, so you do not need Zapier for those. Zapier fits where Plandalf has nothing built in: Send Webhook can post a Plandalf event to a Zap's catch hook, and a Zap can post a Mailchimp event to a Plandalf catch URL.

## What moves between Mailchimp and Zapier

Event

What happens

Contact subscribed, unsubscribed

MailchimpPlandalf

Native step

These two Mailchimp triggers are built in, and Plandalf adds the audience webhook for you. No Zap is needed.

Checkout completed

PlandalfMailchimp

Native step

Add or Update Contact, Add Tags to Contact and Record Event are native steps. Use them before reaching for a Zap.

Any Plandalf event

PlandalfZapier

Zapier or Make

A Send Webhook step posts JSON to the catch hook URL that Zapier shows on the trigger's Test tab. The Zap can then run any action in an app Zapier supports.

New or updated subscriber, new order

MailchimpPlandalf

Zapier or Make

Zapier's Mailchimp app lists triggers beyond subscribe and unsubscribe. A Zap's Webhooks by Zapier step can post one to a Plandalf Webhook Trigger URL.

Invoice refunded

PlandalfMailchimp

Native step

Remove access on refund uses Remove Tags from Contact. With no listed app connected, the template adds a Send refund to webhook step that can feed a Zap.

## Send a Plandalf event to a Zap and bring a Mailchimp event back

You need a Zapier plan that includes Webhooks by Zapier and a Mailchimp account connected in Zapier.

1. ### Use the native Mailchimp steps first

In Automation, Marketplace, connect Mailchimp. Build the tag and event steps for buyers in a sequence on Checkout Completed before adding anything else.

2. ### Create the Zap's catch hook

In Zapier create a Zap with the Webhooks by Zapier trigger, Catch Hook, and copy the custom URL from its Test tab.

3. ### Post to it from Plandalf

In your sequence add Send Webhook with that URL, POST, and a JSON payload with `email`, `offer` and `total` filled from trigger variables. Run the test so Zapier receives a sample.

4. ### Finish the Zap

Add the Zapier action you need, mapping the fields from the caught request. Turn the Zap on.

5. ### Bring a Mailchimp event the other way

Create a Plandalf sequence with the Webhook Trigger and copy its URL. In a second Zap, add a Mailchimp trigger and a Webhooks by Zapier POST action pointing at that URL.

6. ### Test both directions

Send one real event each way and confirm the Events view in Plandalf and the Zap history both show it.

## What sellers do with Mailchimp and Zapier

### Mailchimp order events into a Plandalf sequence

A store that also sells in Mailchimp's ecommerce flow uses a Zap to post new orders to a catch URL, so a Plandalf sequence can send a thank-you and start a promo countdown.

### A Plandalf sale into a tool with no Plandalf step

The checkout posts to a Zap, which adds a row to a sheet and a task for fulfilment, while the Mailchimp tag still comes from a native step.

## Limits and gotchas

- Plandalf has no Zapier app, and the Zapier trigger and action are the generic Webhooks ones. Zapier lists Webhooks as available on its Professional, Team and Enterprise plans, so check your plan.
- Zapier answers 200 while a Zap is on and 404 when it is off or deleted, so a switched-off Zap makes the Send Webhook step show an error.
- A catch URL on either side is a secret address. Do not put it in public pages, and check fields in the payload before acting on them.
- The Mailchimp trigger already covers subscribe and unsubscribe, so a Zap that also watches those would run the sequence twice.
- Zapier's catch hook accepts POST, PUT or GET, but Plandalf's Send Webhook defaults to POST with JSON, which is the safest pairing.

## Mailchimp and Zapier: common questions

Does Mailchimp integrate with Zapier through Plandalf?

Plandalf has no Zapier app. Mailchimp is native in Plandalf, and Zapier is an optional bridge through Send Webhook and the Webhook Trigger catch URL.

How do I connect Plandalf to Mailchimp with Zapier?

You usually do not need to, since Plandalf has Mailchimp steps. For other events, post from Send Webhook to a Zap's catch hook or from a Zap to a Plandalf catch URL.

Which Mailchimp events can reach Plandalf?

Contact Subscribed and Contact Unsubscribed natively. Through Zapier's Mailchimp app, triggers such as new or updated subscriber, new campaign, email opened and new order are listed.

Do I need a paid Zapier plan?

Zapier's help page lists Webhooks as a feature of its Professional, Team and Enterprise plans. Check its current plans before building this.
